At Niche, our occupational therapy services support children in developing the skills they need to thrive in everyday activities. We provide services in-home, in your child’s daycare or school, or within community environments throughout the Greater Boston area. Virtual therapy sessions are also available for families across Massachusetts.
We offer a complimentary phone consultation to explore your child’s developmental and functional needs. This is an opportunity to share concerns, learn more about our approach, and determine whether an occupational therapy evaluation or treatment would be beneficial.
Our occupational therapy sessions are individualized to support your child’s unique sensory, motor, emotional, and functional development. Treatment plans are created in collaboration with families and focus on meaningful, play-based, and strengths-oriented activities. We prioritize a neurodiversity-affirming, child-centered, and evidence-based approach. Frequency and duration of services are based on your child’s goals and needs.
We conduct thorough occupational therapy evaluations for children from infancy through adolescence. Our assessments include standardized tools, clinical observations, and caregiver interviews to provide a comprehensive understanding of your child’s daily functioning. You’ll receive a detailed written report outlining findings, individualized goals, and recommendations for therapy or accommodations.
Navigating school-based supports can be overwhelming. We offer consultative and advocacy services to help you understand occupational therapy in the educational setting. This includes reviewing evaluations or IEPs, attending meetings, and collaborating with teachers and related service providers to ensure your child’s needs are met.

If your child is experiencing challenges with fine motor skills, sensory processing, emotional regulation, self-care tasks, or attention and focus, occupational therapy may be helpful. We offer a complimentary consultation to discuss your concerns and determine next steps.
We provide occupational therapy services for children from infancy through adolescence (ages 0–18), with individualized support tailored to each child’s developmental level and goals.
We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield for occupational therapy services. Additionally, we offer occupational therapy services on a private pay basis and offer superbills upon request for families who wish to seek reimbursement. We’re happy to help guide you through this process.

Session length depends on your child’s age, goals, and attention needs, but most sessions range from 45 to 60 minutes. We work with you to determine what’s most appropriate.
The number of sessions varies based on your child’s needs and goals. After the evaluation, we’ll recommend a personalized treatment plan, including suggested frequency and duration.
Yes. Our occupational therapists are trained in sensory integration approaches and can help children with sensory sensitivities, regulation challenges, and sensory-seeking behaviors.
Yes. We teach body-awareness and coping tools (deep pressure, breathing, movement) and embed them into routines, empowering children to recognize early signs of dysregulation and choose strategies that work for them.
During virtual sessions we coach caregivers in real time, demonstrating activities with household items and guiding positioning, prompts, and progression. We mail or email activity lists in advance so families have materials ready.
Physical therapy targets gross-motor strength, balance, and mobility. Occupational therapy targets functional life skills fine-motor coordination, self-care, sensory processing, and executive functioning so children can participate fully in daily routines.
A sensory diet is a customized set of activities (e.g., heavy-work chores, movement breaks, tactile play) scheduled throughout the day to keep your child regulated. After assessment, we’ll create a practical plan and coach parents and teachers on implementation.
We can collaborate with teachers, IEP teams, and other providers to ensure consistency across settings. We also support families in understanding school-based OT services and advocating for appropriate supports.
